The Abyss is where lost souls end up. Souls that escape the afterlife. Souls that die when the world ends. These souls have a gravitational atraction to eachother, and the clump together to form monsters. These monsters are the Draken. Their sole purpose appears to be to kill more living things and eat their souls, thus becoming bigger and more Powerful.
Draken wander at will in the Open Abyss, and they are yet one more peril of being out there. To a Draken, a wandering Visitor is prey. They can detect when you are near. They will attack you if they find you, and they will follow if you run away. You should definitely run away. As fast as you can.
if a Queen is absent from her Realm, no new children will ever be born there, unless a life sacrifice is made by the Sacred Father. And any others that die in battle or by misfortune or enemy action, their soul will be lost to the Realm, and will merge with the Draken of that Realm. When the Queen finally returns to her Realm, the Draken will come to try and defeat her and take the rest of the souls, ending her Realm for good. She, and her Court, must destroy it to survive, freeing the trapped souls to be born again in the her Realm. As long as the Queen stays in her Realm, new births will occur, until the Realm is as full as that Queen has the Power to support. The Draken will be vanquished, until the Queen again leaves the Realm, when it will begin to re-form once more.
