  1. My first encounter with them was also your first encounter with them, Lydia; after the Chilean earthquake. Mathilda and I have had a few brushes with the effects of their presence while working with the Raphaelites on and around St. James, but we have had no further direct encounters. They may be another manifestation of the collective unconscious and desire of sentient races, not unlike the Servants of the Light, given form and identity through word, prayer, thought, and belief. Their direct manifestation may have been made possible by the power responsible for their origins focused directly through a Death Gem, but that’s little more than a wild theory, supported only by the devil we encountered preparing to perform direct acts of heinousness in order to solidify his presence on St. James. Again…a theory. Here’s where I would expect a contribution from Gudrunn to appear and set me straight… *cricket sounds?*

  2. True Evil. Take that as you will. In direct opposition to the Servants of Light. Take that as you will. They practice ritual and trade in death. I have at times wondered if Death Gems are an antithesis to Gems of Creation. Parallels but not completely dichotomous. That is all I have.

  3. Just to put some perspective on this area…..

Very recently some of us encountered a ‘Daemon’ (my spelling may be incorrect).

Baal, King of the Eastern Hells.

The name is straight out of the Bible, or maybe the Bible reflects what is true in this Creation. I don’t know.

Anyway, that is NOT one of Eregion’s Demons, but an entirely different being that apparently serves the Darkness, which seems to be the true Evil in this Creation.

Thus, it (and the soldiers of darkness with it) were subject to the Hosts ministrations without doubt.

I could be wrong, but I believe Eregion’s demons may not fall into the Hosts purview by default. This did.

Thus, it is worth pointing out the difference between the two of them.
